Reflections

During this shooting, I found it hard to find a background that was pleasing to my eyes, but eventually my group and I found ways to synthesize a background acceptable to our desires. Utilizing large black and white poster boards allowed us to create simpler backgrounds to allow the viewer's eyes to focus on the subject at hand. The most difficult image to take a picture of was honestly the metal cylinder. It had limitless amounts of potential in my mind, but in the classroom I had a mental block for it. I wish I could've taken the object out near my hometown of Buffalo and went to the steel plant to introduce an environment well fitted for it. Considering the steel plant burned down a few years ago, this object would've been a great piece to display what the steel plant once was.

You can see how my hands are in my pocket, main reason being that I forgot to wear gloves outside. Usually I would've taken a picture with my hands outstretched to show how adventurous I am, but I couldn't get over the lack of sensation in my appendages. My intent behind the photograph was to express how I always try to look to the brighter sides of life, hehe. The lighting and composition were chosen primarily based upon the previous statement, attempting to look towards a light while surrounded in the cold shadows.
